Nestled on the banks of the Warrego River, Cunnamulla is located at the crossroads of the Mitchell Highway (Matilda Highway) and the Adventure Way. The statue of the Cunnamulla Fella (made famous by Slim Dusty’s song) welcomes visitors to town. It honours all the characters that have passed through, set up camp, worked and wandered this country. The Cunnamulla Fella Centre houses the Visitor Centre, Art Gallery, Artesian Time Tunnel and Museum so why not make it your first stop in Cunnamulla, before venturing further to explore the Cunnamulla bushlands and sandhills, or setting out for a taste of real outback life at a holiday stay on a working sheep and cattle station. The Artesian Time Tunnel takes you on a journey back in time 100 million years when dinosaurs roamed the earth and the underground water was forming opals. Artesian water is still the lifeblood of Outback Qld.
